Under the directions of Government of India, National Informatics Centre (NIC) ,it was proposed to setup a Computer Network for interconnectivity of District Headquarters with State Capital and further with New Delhi. In this direction a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between NIC and State Government in the year 1988 and NIC has extended its nation-wide network NICNET up to district level. NIC was established at District Hoshangabad in the year 1989. Since then it is providing informatics led service to the district administration and other various government departments & organizations. NIC is committed to exceed the customer requirement by providing reliable ICT Services through a team of competent IT professionals

 

 

 

NIC District Centre is connected with State Capital and its Head Quarter , New Delhi ,through Satellite based VSAT technology and it is equipped with high-end Servers and Desktop clients, Satellite Communication equipment, Video Conferencing Studio, Remote Access Server etc. for providing reliable ICT services to the District Administration , various Government Departments & Organizations.

Major Achievements :

 

1.      NIC Mail Messaging

 

E-mail and Internet services have been extended to District Administration and other

government departments on 24x7 basis through LAN and PSTN Dialup to NIC District

Unit.

 

2.      Video Conferencing Services

 

      NIC Studio based Video Conferencing facility is used extensively by various government

      departments for conducting their weekly/fortnightly and monthly review meetings. This in

      turns saving their journey time and expenses.

 

3.      ICT Support during Parliamentary and Assembly Elections

 

      Complete ICT Support for the District Administration and Election Department during

      Assembly and Parliamentary Elections . Computerization of Election related work and

      successful transmission of Election trends and result.  

 

4.      Web based Software Application

 

A web-based portal named “ Work Monitoring System” has been developed and incorporated under district WEB SITE to bring the transparency in the implementation process of various infrastructure work sanctioned under various scheme and their status for citizens.

 

  1. Software Projects

 

Major projects and software applications like All India Education Survey , Head Start of Rajiv Gandhi Siksa Mission, Agmarknet , Crop Insurance , Computerized pay and Allowance System , Time Limit , Land Records Computerization, Arms Licensing, 11 Points, Integrated Child Development Scheme, Community needs Assessments , Gram Sampark , Below Poverty Line, Pension Security Scheme, Public Distribution System, Miner Irrigation, Delimitation, etc has been implemented under the computerization scheme for various concern departments.

 

  1. Training

 

Hands-on training on various application software development and implemented, Office Automation Tools, dialup Internet/E-mail access etc.
